For most of our customers (primesign MOBILE FLAT and primesign MOBILE+ FLAT customers), re-identification and the issuance of a new signing certificate is free of charge. Please contact our support team to obtain a CODE.

For other price models, please contact your internal IT department to obtain a CODE. Alternatively purchase a new signing certificate in our store.
What are the costs for issuing a new primesign signature certificate?

For the majority of our customers (these are primesign MOBILE FLAT and primesign MOBILE+ FLAT customers ), the new issue of a primesign signature certificate is free of charge.

For other price models, your sales contact or our sales team will be happy to help you.

My e-mail address has changed. Can I use my new e-mail address when renewing my certificate?

No. You cannot renew the certificate with a new e-mail address. When renewing the certificate, you must use the same e-mail address that you used when you first registered with primesign.

If your e-mail address has changed and/or you no longer use the e-mail address that you used for your initial registration with primesign, you must revoke your signature certificate immediately. The certificate may no longer be used for signing. Information on revocation can be found here. To continue signing with primesign, you will need to re-register. Contact your internal IT department or our support team to obtain a VOUCHER CODE for re-registration.

Certificate renewal - what happens in detail?

We issue a new signature certificate in your name. This is immediately ready for use and can be used for signing with primesign for a further five years (from the date of issue).

If you renew your signature certificate before the expiry date, your old signature certificate that is still valid at the time of renewal will be automatically revoked. We will inform you of the revocation by e-mail.

Of course, all previously executed signatures remain valid even after a signature certificate has expired and been revoked.

How does the certificate renewal process work?

We use our OnBoarding Service for certificate renewal.

  • Visit our OnBoarding Service and enter the VOUCHER CODE you used for the initial registration.
  • Continue with the same e-mail address you used for the initial registration.
  • Identify yourself by video or eID (e.g. German ID card, ID Austria).
  • Set your new access data.
  • You will receive your new signature certificate. This is ready for use immediately.
I no longer have my VOUCHER CODE to hand. What can I do? Contact your internal IT department. If your internal IT department cannot help you, please contact our support team.
When can I sign again after a certificate renewal? Immediately. Your new signature certificate is ready to use immediately.
Why did I also receive a revocation e-mail in the course of renewing my certificate?

When the certificate is renewed, a completely new certificate is issued in your name.

If you renew your signature certificate before the expiry date, your old signature certificate, which is still valid at the time of renewal, will be automatically revoked. We will inform you of the revocation by e-mail.

Of course, all previously executed signatures remain valid even after a signature certificate has expired and been revoked.

Can I sign with an expired signature certificate?

Avalid signature certificate is required forsigning.primesign signature certificates are valid for 5 years.

Signing is no longer possibleafter the expiry date. To continue signing, you must renew your signature certificate.
