This is how it works:

  • PDF is signed by hand via pad
  • additionally automatically "sealed" with a qualified seal certificate
  • and optionally enhanced with a qualified time stamp :
    • Secures origin and signing time
    • can be checked in PDF viewers

QUALIFIED SIGNING PROCESS

This is how it works:

  • Identification of the customer
  • Identity verification in accordance with QTSP specifications
  • Transmission of the identity data with the document
  • PDF is signed by hand via pad
  • In addition, a qualified signature (one-time certificate) is added based on the transmitted identity data.

 

Advantages of the qualified signing process:

REAL LIFE APPLICATIONS

We enable the quick and uncomplicated use of electronic signatures when admitting patients to hospitals or doctors practices.

Equip the patient admission desk with signature pads so that patients can sign consent forms and other information sheets electronically on admission. Patients can sign directly on the signature pad using a pen without prior registration and without having a means for electronic signature. This elliminates paper-based processes.

Enable your clients to sign quickly and easily using a pen on the signature pad. By combining it with a qualified (one-time) signature, you provide the same legal certainty as when using handwritten paper-based signatures. Identity verification for the qualified signature is carried out by trained staff at the law firm.

Enable citizens to use qualified (one-time) signatures with a signature pad when dealing with authorities.

From the user's point of view, the signature is made using a pen on the signature pad. During the signature process, citizens are issued a qualified personal (one-time) certificate and used directly for signing. The necessary identity verification is carried out by employees of the respective authority.

Have bank customers (qualified) sign contracts directly on the signature pad.

The identity verification required for the qualified personal signature is carried out by trained bank staff (GWG/KYC-compliant).

What do I need to be able to use signing with a signature pad? Signing with signature pad is used in combination with a primesign SIGNATURE SERVER. The primesign SIGNATURE SERVER is your company-wide infrastructure for signatures and can be purchased both as an on-premise installation and as a managed service. What are the system requirements for users who want to sign using a signature pad?
  • Signing with a signature pad is used in combination with a primesign SIGNATURE SERVER or by integrating the Document Signing API.
  • Only usable with a signature pad supported by primesign.
  • The signature pad is connected to the PC or laptop via USB.
  • No additional software needs to be installed on the user's PC or laptop.
What do signatures with a signature pad cost?

In addition to the general infrastructure costs for the primesign SIGNATURE SERVER and various SLA models, the following costs are incurred:

Direct costs depending on the model - for example:

  • Acquisition costs for signature pads
  • Licensing costs for the use of signature pads (per organization)
  • Depending on the model: transaction package or pay-per-use per (qualified) signature
Where can I get seal certificates for the signature pad?

We recommend primesign SEAL certificates for use with the signature pad.

As an integrator, can I also integrate the signature pad into my own application via an interface?

Yes, signing with a signature pad can be integrated via the Document Signing API in the same way as other signature options - e.g. primesign MOBILE or signing with eID.
